Various people in the world show their bravery in different ways. Some of them maybe immolated themselves to save a person. Others could just do something new that they never did before. However, in both "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight" and "the Sniper", the protagonists have a trait of bravery, even when they were facing death.
In the story "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight", Sir Gawain is a brave Protagonist who can step forward when facing trouble and keep his promise to the Green Knight. For instance, when the Green Knight cane to provoke the King Aurthur, Sir Gawain was not astounded as other Knights, but "step forward" and said "No one laughs at the Knights of the Round Table". He was brave enough to did what he asked with his confident voice. Thus, Sir Gawain was calm when facing the menace and be brave to retort the Green Knight perfectly. In addition, he was brave to hold his promise to the Green Knight. even he might never come back from the Green Castle. He didn't run away although the Lord Westall enticed him to escape, but just went as he promised. When the Lord always recommended him to "run for life","the Green knight killed everyone who goes near it.".......but even he said"you must escape mow, I'll help you". Sir Gawain still Kept the words he promised to the Green Knight one year ago. Hence, it means that Sir Gawain can adhere to his principles when there was a lure in front of him. In summary, Sir Gawain is a protagonist who has a trait of brave. He protected the King Aurthur even if someone enticed him, he never broke his heavy promise.
In the story "The Sniper", the Republican sniper is a brave protagonist who didn't recoil by the excoriated pain of the severe wound his enemy caused, and he can be calm to think of a ruse which was successful when facing death death. The sniper shows his bravery when he was injured deeply by the enemy. For example, when "the blood was oozing through the sleeve of his coat", he didn't recoil but "broke the neck of the iodine bottle and let the bitter fluid trip into the wound". It was extremely hurt and he was almost paralyzed. Thus, he is brave to resist the pain, not just lying down and wait for death. In addition, he is brave even when he was in the face of death and be calm to think of a good ruse to save himself. "His ruse had succeeded". This idea which flashed into his mind pulled him back from the death. Hence, even when he was wounded and facing danger, he can still kept a calm bream thought what should he do next, and never give up to his enemies and death. In summary, the sniper is a character who shows bravery when facing the antagonist, he didn't give up, contrarily be calm and thought of the strategic ruse in the story.
These two stories show there are examples of being brave. Both of the protagonists show their bravery to the audience, they deserved praiseful. However, there’re a large number of people in the world that are also showing bravery in the news or around life. All of them are gritty by the bravery, just like Sir Gawain and the sniper.
