SAMUEL DE CHAMPLAIN.

SAMUEL DE CHAMPLAIN is looking at me in the picture above. He seems very mature and ancient. I guest he was maybe around 50 years old. He may had a lot of experiences and know how to control people very much. Success must love him and always meet him. He might be famous and ran honors for his country.

Samuel DE Champlain (1567?-1635) was a French explorer and navigator who mapped much of northeastern North America and started a settlement in Quebec0. Champlain also discovered the lake named for him and was important in establishing and administering the French colonies in the New World. The most important honor he ran for his country is he sat up the Quebec and found the Lake Champlain.

2. What is his relationship with Canada? Why is he important to Canada?
CHAMPLAIN is very important. Because he sat up Quebec, a province in Canada which has the most population of France. He became known as the father of New France, which was the French part of Canada. He also made a map of New France and the relationship of Iroquois.

3. When did he explore? What was happening during history at this time?
He started explore in Mar,15th, 1603. After he find Quebec, in 1629 . Quebec was captured by the English and Champlain was taken to England as a prisoner. He made a map of St.Lawrence River after returned to France. Between France and Iroquois, they sell fur trades during that history time.

4. Where did he explore? Find a map to help you answer this question. Post the map here and then explain.

The first place Champlain arrived is Quebec, Canada. He sat up the city. Then, he went to explored New France and discovered a city. He named it Huron. He traveled to Ottawa river later. After that, he gave a explain of an area called "North Sea", which people wanted him to found. Then he returned to Saint-Marlo. The native people against Iroquois with the helps Champlain gave them. After his trip to North America, he found all of new ways that Cartier found and explore by himself several times ago. He moved deeply and want to further his exploration. He was sure that he can get more progress than Cartier. He promised with the king of France to have a discover the mysteries that no one found before. The reason for exploration of Champlain is just like Cabot's and Cartier's. They just want to follow the explorers who got success before and achieve more values by themselves.

6. How did he explore? What transportation methods did he use?

He and his solders used both boats and ships during they traveled to Tadoussac. After that, they went to Quebec by only boats. They left their ships. Champlain may had a really hard time for exploration. Because he travel for a very long time on foot! Imagine how drowsy he was! It was a great changeling for common people like us. Although it was hard, he never give up or come back. He got a real success.

REFLECTION

1. What have you learned since September in Canadian Studies?

I really learned a lot since I am taking Canadian Studies. The most important part is about exploration. We learned about two main explorers called John Cabot and Jacques Cartier. Both of them ran honors for their countries. We also made a puppet show about John Cabot, that's really cool!! I was lucky to working and studying with my friends in group. Another interesting work I did is our Viking Ship! All of us were creative and hard-working, our ship is colourful and as well as a real ship! I am very pond of it~~

If you have a view of my beautiful blog, you can see a lot of columns and particles full of it. That's all I have learned! Including Viking ships, the Fur Trade, flat earth, what you think is what you see and many more. One skill that I got most is writing literary essay in English 10, although it's so hard for me to write. I'd like to try my best.

I also learned how to find information at the Internet and put them together as soon as possible. That's also helpful to me in the future.

2. What is the most memorable lesson you remember? (if you weren't here, maybe at another school)

The most memorable lesson I remember are our VIKING SHIP and PUPPET SHOW!! Both of them are amazing! I learned as much as the whole world when I was working with my friends. Our viking ship is the most beautiful and solid in the world (I guest...). I still remember that several days, Jessie were working with the design and draft of the ship, Nina brought a lot of newspapers to full of it, Angela made the colours and I helped them to fix them on the ship. All of us are working very hard and through off a large numbers of good ideas. That's cool! We came to Nina's home to made our puppet show every day after school. Laughter and ideas are full of the time during our work.

3. Think about your life as a student here since September. Have you changed? How?
I think I really changed a lot since September. I'm a little quite girl before. I didn't have enough confidence to speak English in a strong voice. after I'm studying at our school, I speak and read English every day with Ms. Chan and my beautiful friends. That's cool and I feel my English becomes better and better.
My life now is also bright, I love all of people and nature around me and I really feel lucky to be there. I'd love to be happy forever.

4. What is your goal for yourself by June? What is your plan to study?
I wish to have a wonderful study life in June. I hope my English 10 provincial is done well and get a whole A report card from school. I trying to do well in my reading log everyday and learn some new words. I know both reading and writing are necessary to improve my English. I'd like to watch more great English movies and find English songs, too.
For life, I hope I would have a good time in two months. Be healthy and happy as now. It's the most important wish for me. If I have those 2 Hs, I have all.

5. What are you most proud of in school since September? Have you done your best?

Yes, I think I mostly have. The most proud of myself in school is my English is improve and I'm happy all the time. I'm lucky to meet my friends and learned a lot from them. I really want to say"Thank you" here, I'll try my best in the future from now. My mom said I'm mature than before. I;m happy to hear that. That means I looks more like a young girl now. I'm proud of myself and want to changed into a young lady. That's cool and I can do everything I want. Thanks my parents, my friends, my teachers and my idle. You ALL give me the whole world. Flat Earth

Explain:

In the first picture, the earth is like a dish. It shows that the earth is flat. There has 3 parts in the "dish earth", different people are doing different activities there. In the top part, a man is
standing in the crops. It looks like he is fishing or taking care of the grass and tress around him. There are two girls with red dresses in the other two parts. They are dancing beautifully and feel close the nature. They looks comfortable and feel wonderful being with the flat earth.
The second picture is shocked and creative. There is a man setting in the top of the big and long stone. Mountains are everywhere around him. Behind his foot, it's a very high cliff. I'm felt horrible when I saw it at the first time. It's very dangerous! The man will drop down the cliff if he doesn't be careful. The picture shows the flat earth because the man is still safe. The peace and the concordant makes me happy. If the earth is round, the man won't be able to set on there.
2. Imagine you are a person who believes the earth is still flat today. What are 5 reasons to support your argument that it is still flat?
a. We can feel the earth is turning around and around.
b. We cannot see the round earth.
c. Our articular is immobile is we don't touch them. If the earth is not flat, they may move by themselves.
d. The building on the flat earth are firm.
e. Everything will rub to the round by the beeline if we drop them down.
3. Do you think human beings have a false concept of the earth and the universe today?
NO, I don't. Because a lot of avoidance from the scientists tell us that the earth is round and move all the time.
